Canada Street

"This small but astutely proportioned commercial building gives generously to the slightly derelict area in which it is located. Internally, a slight shift in alignment allows showroom and production functions to be separated without complete closure. Small slivers of red glass embedded in a richly textured concrete wall embellish the expansive production space. Both the materials and their use are innovative." (NZIA)

Kalwall was a perfect fit for the innovative design because the panels allowed diffused natural daylight into the space without excessive solar glare.

Wingate + Farquhar specified the Thermally Broken R1.9 value panel system with a Shoji grid format.  Kalwall's span capabilities (up to 5m) also meant the showroom design required a minimal support structure, leaving the space with large unimpeded daylighting walls.
